My brother just got his swap magic PS2 yesterday and tried loading a few games. MGS2 worked fine but then tried to load red faction 2. Had some funny cd reading noises and then it crashed. Took out red faction 2 and reset the console........Now when i try to turn the console on all I get is a blank screen (no Ps2 screen at all/no browser) and the tray wont eject anymore. Anyone had this prob???? What happened to my Ps2???

Is it possible that a faulty game could get rid of the loading software of my ps2???

What swap method were you using?
Did you drop the PS2 recentlly?

No I didnt even move it. Using swap magic 2.0 with flip top was loading a game then pressed reset and after that nothing....nothing happened to it physically, just stopped working...

you might have messed up your siver ribbon power cable and that might have caused a short on one of your ba chips or bios or something other than that I dont know what it could have been

How long have u had the ps2? it could be the laser :eek: or just a fuse :D

only got it yesterday....its about a month old. Very strange...will look at the fuses!

does the red light on the front of the ps2 ?
if not it could be the ribbon cable but most likely the fuse on the mainboard named ED it is very small but if it is that by a new fuse or put a melted blob of solder on it to bridge both ends of the fuse.

check the fuse with a multimeter first.

i know this because i had the same sort of problem and now mine workes fine.

yes still has red light on front of Ps2. Can be turned on...but no audio/video signal and no blue light on eject button!! Seems I may have a fuse prob!! Thanks peeps for the help - is this a problem due to the swap magic??? Glad I put a messiah in mine....stupid brother I did try to tel him!!
