I tried to look thru the forum but couln't find this:

Are there any PS2 games that needs to be patched before it can be backup? Or are all games just straight backup using the Veritas program?

Hmm whats veritas?? yeh all backups can boot with n o patch if ou have a no-swap mod but if you have the swap magic discs most recent games wont work without the cdloader for v1-v6. BTW use alcohol 120% to burn them and make sure you do it at 1x on good media like verbatim or ritek.

Veritas is backup software for servers - similar to ARCSERVEIT, Ghost etc.

I use it in office to do DR backups of servers.

You can't use Veritas for backing up PS2 CD/DVD - u need Nero/CDRWIN/Fireburner/CloneCD/Alcohol/Prassi Primo DVD(RecordNowMax)/VOB CD/DVD etc. - then for CD just copy on the fly for DVD rip to iso imaged on HD then burn iso
