Loud_Minority Jul 22, 2003, 07:55 PM Ok, I am interested in buying an Xbox. But I want to know a few things about the Method Of Backing up original Xbox games only. None of those downloaded from the net games. I have read that all the DVD games on the Xbox are Dual Layer and must be copied from the Xbox to the PC/Mac thru the Ethernet Port. I have also read about something called Evolution-X, I am not sure what the hell that is or where to get it, but I have heard it is needed in the process of backing up original Xbox games from the Xbox to the PC/Mac. And Finally.... Which Mod Chip is the best out there... I have Read that the X-Ecuter 2.2 Pro is the best out there anyone else have any experience with it?

What type of patches are you looking for dvd-rip?
Loud_Minority Jul 23, 2003, 10:30 AM No, not DVD Rip patches. More or less trainers and anti mod patches and PAL to NTSC patches.
ps2daddy Jul 24, 2003, 08:51 AM I have seen a couple of dvd-rip patches sites but I dont know of any other site that is similar in content to consolecopyworld though, Sorry :(
Loud_Minority Jul 24, 2003, 12:31 PM Would the fact that I don't own a PC screw my ablility to burn an Xbox Bios to DVD/CD rom?

No it should work fine www.xbox-scene.com should have all the tools you need I am rebuilding and xbox and I will be modding it in about 2 weeks.
You need to install a modchip
Flash the modchip with a new bios to play backups
Install Evox to the hard drive and then you can burn games
The PS2 was so much simpler once you installed the chip you would just burn the games
:)
Loud_Minority Jul 24, 2003, 11:01 PM No joke, the PS2 is so much easier....The Xbox has so many little steps. (reminds me of ripping DC games) Are you going to put in a 120gig HD or bigger in your Xbox? Im thinking of going to the 120 that should be good enough for me. I am also interested in the Xbox Emulaters. Would be nice to play all those Capcom Fighters.

I think 140Gb is the max
120 is the normal max but I think you can do something to expand it to 140 maximum.
I might stick a 30GB Harddrive in there later
Look at www.xbox-scene.com there are some links downloads and turoials that are very helpful there
ps2daddy Jul 31, 2003, 09:11 AM Well phase one is complete I have managed to find some xbox parts and I peiced one together (might be able to make it 2 xboxes soon I hope)
Now if I can just convince the wife to let me buy the chip ;)

Apparently you will be able to use any size harddrive in the xbox soon ( look at the news on xbox-scene today) imagine a 300 harddrive in it:hdspin:
Loud_Minority Aug 28, 2003, 07:48 PM Now if only there where more than a handful of games I would like to have for the Xbox. Hey Ps2daddy you going to paint/mod the case for the Xbox or just leave it normal?
ps2daddy Aug 29, 2003, 09:30 AM I never could get the laser to work on the one I was trying to fix the replacement laser was flaky.
I am going to sell both xboxes on ebay buy a new one and customize it with paint and lights and other stuff when I get the cash
Here is my custom ps2 that I finished about 2 months ago

cyberwuf24 Sep 22, 2003, 01:28 PM Just a bit of advice. If you do not have access to a PC make sure that you get a modchip that comes preflashed with cromwell. Otherwise you will run in to problems flashing the chip for the first time (the flashing software is PC only).
If it has cromwell preflashed alread then it will be no problem to burn a bios disc and reflash with whatever you want.
Hope this helps!
Loud_Minority Oct 04, 2003, 11:59 AM Hey Ps2Daddy, on your custom PS2, is the PS2 logo lit with LED light or just a paint, if so with a LED how did you do that?:hdspin:

I paid for a guy to cut the letters out and he also sold the (EL) electroluminescent light kit I painted and installed it myself

Loud_Minority Nov 11, 2003, 01:53 AM Shame it only comes in blue, I would love for a glowing black logo to go with my amber red PS2.

Well I finally got an xbox and modded it and it works great 100X easier to solder than a ps2. I am customizing it now too I have put blue led lights in the controller ports, power button, and I am going to light the jewel (already cleared it out) now I am just waiting to order a custom chrome case :)
ps2daddy Feb 23, 2004, 11:10 AM Also for those that are having problems ftp'ing to their mac if you use Evox 3935 it will solve all of those problems.
