Just upgraded my PC to a Sony Vaio RX624. It has a Sony DVDRW drive which I used to copy some audio CDs. Using Nero in the same way I always used to). When I put the CDr in a player it took several seconds to start playing. And then it skipped on a few tracks. I am using the same media that I used to use with my old PC and CD writer. Any help ? I am going to try again with much slower read and write speeds but I wonder why it took so long to start playing ?

Are you copying on the fly?
If so, try copying the CD to the hard drive first the burn the image to see if it makes a difference.
Check to make sure that DMA is enabled on the drives.
