I have a lite-on 40 speed re-writter but each time I burn an audio using easy cd creator and a datawrite 48 speed disc the burn speed is usually around 24...why is this, and can it be changed to burn at the fastest speed,I have made sure that the max speed option is ticked and I do believe that I had been burning a lot faster before...any suggestions please.

Go to this page http://www.cdmediaworld.com/hardware/cdrom/cd_utils_2.shtml#CD-Info and look at some of the CD indentifying programs. Download one and run it on the CD's you're using. Perhaps you got some misslabeled 48 speed discs that are only 24 speed.

sorry for maybe not letting you know all the info this applies to all types of cdr I use and all different speeds...one speed for all.

Hmmm... I used to use easycd creator a long time ago... Just change the speed in your preferances I think...

But I alway choose nero over EZ cd. Its alot more reliable... Try it out at http://www.nero.com . If you dont like t you can always stick with ez cd

Try updating to the latest firmware (more media compatibility) or try selecting 40X instead of max write speed. I think it's a firmware issue.
