ystalyfera Jul 30, 2003, 01:46 AM Any help much appreciated and thanks in advance
Downloaded Charlies Angels 2 svcd off a dedicated server, used iso buster to create mpegs, joined useing Esy Video Joiner and authered with DVD MOVIE FACTORY,problem i got is Image file is 4.9 gig even tho the original svcds were only 1.3 gig in total. What am i doing wrong and can i lower the size of the Image i got with a simple proggy.
celtic_druid Jul 30, 2003, 02:44 AM That would be because SVCD is not technically DVD compliant and movie factory wants to re-encode it. Surely you can lower the bitrate though?
jesterrace777 Jul 30, 2003, 11:06 AM Can't you use a program like DVD Shrink V2.3 to fix this problem ystalyfera?
ystalyfera Jul 30, 2003, 11:28 AM Not sure guys thats why i,m asking the question, would have thought someone is useing the same proggys etc to convert from svcd to dvd.
celtic_druid Jul 30, 2003, 02:03 PM Why re-encode and then transcode when you could just lower the bitrate?
ystalyfera Jul 30, 2003, 03:12 PM Used Shrink and it reduced size of movie, thanks for help guys, can see where Druid,s coming from tho,is there anything on Movie Factory that allows you to lower bitrate,i,m already on the lowest setting "good".
celtic_druid Jul 31, 2003, 12:42 AM Never used it myself, but if it only has settings like good, average, excellent, etc. then I won't ever be. I would suggest using a better program with more advanced settings.
ystalyfera Aug 01, 2003, 04:33 PM Any recomendations Druid??
bjspringer Aug 01, 2003, 06:06 PM dvdlab m8 works for me
celtic_druid Aug 02, 2003, 12:11 AM I would suggest converting externally with CCE(video)/BeSweet(audio) and then importing into your authoring app as fully DVD compliant MPEG2/AC3.
ystalyfera Aug 02, 2003, 08:52 AM 1000 THANKS,Will try that
Pumpkinman Aug 03, 2003, 12:30 AM ulead movie factory will let you create an iso. i would try that and then load the iso into a virtual drive and use a compression software (ic7) from there
