View Full Version : just got: Sony DW-U10A and want to know what media(dvd-r or r/w) works best

hi,
i just got the oem Sony DW-U10A and was wondering what media i should use. i would like to go with dvd-r or r/w. any ideas?
if anyone knows what the best software for this particular drive is let me.

As always my recommendation will be Ritek DVD-R. No other media comes close to it's track record for the price. Either the 1x/2x G03 Riteks or the G04 4x Riteks would be an excellent choice. If you don't want to order online and don't mind spending a little bit more then you can pick up Verbatim or Fujifilm DVD-R discs and have equal success.

To add to jester's answer, the reason why these discs are always recommended by pretty much everyone here is because they use a dark purple recording surface, which = less and wear and tear on your laser, much easier for laser to read.
