Every now and then a "bug" shows up in some software program. I don't know how someone came up with that word, but it sounds quite funny.

I have a somewhat different problem with bugs however. I have a lovely EIZO Flexscan 19" flatpanel monitor. Problem is... There are REAL LIFE BUGS inside my monitor. That is right... there are insects inside my $3000,- flatpanel. What the f.... ?!?:furious:

Somehow, 5 fruitflies ended up in the monitor... they probably got in through the ventialtion holes in the back, and now they are walking around on the backside of the screen, showing as little black spots that move around all day long.

What can i do? Help!

The expression 'bug' had a similar origin. Back in the days when computers were made from valves and relays a moth got caught between the contacts of a relay preventing them from closing.

Thats f'd up, Build a trap, hopefully they will come out, try the idea at the bottom of this link

I really dont know what else to tell you, maybe a can of air sprayed through the vent holes might even kill them since the air is powerful and cold, maybe have to shut down the monitor for a while though.

Friut flies only live for 8 days, so unless you have fruit in your monitor  , you should be rid of them soon.

To get rid of them sooner, look here (http://www.uky.edu/Agriculture/Entomology/entfacts/struct/ef621.htm) for building a trap.

{edit} oops .. Mr Snatcher beat me to it

I think they died alltright. Three of them are not visual, two of them however are sticking onto the screen. Heck...

I guess i should try to spray though the ventilation with some compressed air allright. Wouldn't know what else to do about it...
