Just updated the firmware to 1.40 and i have two 2x discs and they booth different but Prassi or DvdDecryptor wont let me copy at 2x

What disks are they ? ... brand, dye type ?

One that is just silver on top, and the other is a Mirror one. I thought that u could also burn 1x discs at 2x with this firmware. Well the Datawrite Yellow 1x wont burn @ 2

what hacked firmware are you using? i use 1.40 2x 4 all, and burn the yellow top datawrites at 2x ok with my 104, but i still try to stick to the genuine ritek dye discs (dark purple, very reliable, piece of mind etc.)

Enable any media to burn @ 2x on DVR-A04/104

On Nero it says 2x, so i can burn but maybe the media wont let me. Can u post that firmware to me m8 plz

thats the firmware i use, some users of it complain it dosnt work either, this could be because of the manufacture date of the 104`s being different in these cases they use 1.40 2x 4 ritek and sick mainly to those discs, for 2x burning, i believe since the 105 and 106 came on the scene the 104 hacked firmware was never fully corrected, and some even get better result with 1.31 firmware. you may have to try those....

Yup ........ I used the 1.31 firmware, with Riteks ... very stable and reliable. It also worked on Datawrite Greytops (TDK) and the odd Bulkpaq Greentop (TDK). I just bought the 106, but my son is still using it fine, with Riteks.
