I knew the frame rate was suppose to be poor. But Except for the fact that I can set the details higher, my nVidia Geforce 4 MX 64mb on my old PC seems a lot better.

Just lousy framerate sometimes, and the thing has like a thing where constantly a horizontal "line" goes up and changes picture kinda hard to explain. But even older games give me crap.

I mean there are a lot of settings to be changed, in the NVIDIA MEDIA CENTER. What needs to be done? Maybe even some tweaking stuff.

Maybe I shoulda went with an ATI for faster framerate, but I would like to stick with nVidia.

Update to the newer drivers if you haven't already, or you can always overclock it.

I've never overclocked anything, afraid of burning it out. But in this situation, if it doesnt improve I'm gunna buy a newer video card n e way. So could you inform me on how to do so?

Allot of manufactors already supply tools, who makes your card?

inno3D is the manufacturer. I guess thats what you mean, who boxed it.

I'm searching google. i seem to find stuff (increase by 10 - 15%) but can't figure out how lotta crap to filter through.

Also when Overclocking a video card, is there a chance of blowing your monitor. (19" KDS Visual Sensation)

No chance in damaging your moniter. You should be okay at overclocking your video card. Most of the damage is done by raising the voltage VIA the bios, which is only used in extreme cases. You should only overclock the RAM and the CORE. And if you go to high, you'll experience freezing and other defeacts in games, which means you should lower your overclock. Overclocking isnt as dangerous as most people think it is.

So from what I've read I gotta use Coolbits Reg Hack and 3DMarks.

Whats better for Video Cards or cooling in general - a heatsink or a fan? Cuzz on my Inno3D I gotta a fan on mine. cuzz I read that the 5200 is just a heatsink, while the 5200 Ultra has a fan. So how;s this gunna affect overclocking? better or worse?

It all matters on how big the fan and the heatsink is. If you want to invest in Video card cooling, i recomend the following products from thermaltake.

http://www.thermaltake.com/products/chipset/oem/nv30.htm

OR the one on the bottom (purple)

3DMark is only a benchmarking program, not a overclocking one. One the cd that came with your video card, look to see if you have any overclocking aps.

BTW, if you have a heatsink, you have to have a fan. The heatsink transfers the heat from the chipset and the fans cools it. You cant directly bolt on a fan.

I was reading this thing, it said after changing the frequency up to test with 3D Marks, didnt say how, but was hoping to figure it out. Is there something better i can download, since not much appears to be on the disc.

Download this file.

http://hardocp.com/files/cool_stuff/geforce_oc.reg

Then

1. Double-click the icon and you'll see a window that says, "Are you sure you want to add the information?"

2. Click Yes and the program will edit the registry. Once it's edited you'll see a window telling you the information has been successfully entered into the registry.

3. Click OK and reboot

Then

Right-click the desktop and select "Properties" from the menu.
Select the "Settings" tab. A button labeled "Advanced" will appear.
Select the icon tab with the name of your card on it. For example, mine [not really mine] is labeled "GeForce2GTS."
A spinning Nvidia logo should appear.
Click on the "Additional Properties" button.
You'll see a slider type menu with two different sliders.
You can now control the frequency of the Nvidia's card memory and core speed independently.

k. I already have that. Thats what Coolbits is. an nVidia reg hack in the NVIDIA options to change those 2 things. And I also figured out the reason 3D Benchmark is used, is because it plays that video game video for a few minute which lets you see it works. So I guess moving 3mhz by 3mhz this is gunna take awhile. One site gave there estimation and it was wrong I'm guessing, cuzz when I tried to open a game, the screen kinda turned red and funky. SO guess I gotta find it myself.

ALso has an option to change freq. at startup, so i can leave that unchecked, and when i get to the f*'d me red screen, i can just restart and try lowering it.

Also should I be changing the 3-D part, same as the 2-D ? Theres 2 seperate sliders for each?

3DMark200* is a benchmark utility, it emulates games so it can also be used to check the stability of your overclock.

The 3D and 2D sliders are self explanitory, do with them as you wish.

I wasn't sure, whether if I moved one up, like 3d, and not the other, 2d, it would cause more probs. But It doesnt matter, even when juicen it, I'm not gettin the results I want. So guess I need $150 for a decent card. (not to mention a quiter PSU. $50 more. I actually do have 200 free bucks in my posession, too bad college starts in 2 weeks, i may need it, i may not. (not even to mention the games comin)

So one last thing. As long as I see no glitches in 3D Marks Benchark, and actaul games my overclock should be good right?

not to mention a quiter PSU

You can just swap the Fans and save your self some money.

basically yes.
