I have just been given access to an FTP server but cannot connect I downloaded SMARTFTP in case it was a problem with FLASHFXP but get this error message

Connected to (88.88.888.888) -> Time = 110ms
Socket connected waiting for login sequence.
Connection timeout. No response from server.

I have hidden the IP addy for obvious reasons.

I have no firewalls running as I turned them off in case that was the problem. I have also disable internet connection sharing.

I am able to FTP my XBOX and the guy running the server has connected to my account withSMARTFTP....

Can anyone suggest a solution, it is driving me mad. I am running XP pro.

Seems to be a problem with the ftp server... I dont think theres any problem from your end... Unless maybe that you need to turn passive mode off
