How do i move program files from one computer to the other? I have upgraded my computer and there is a program on my old machine that i want to transfer to my new one.

Is this possible?

Not really, as most programs are spread out over your hard drive, with library files in the Windows and sub-folders, as well as they are registered inside the registry, simply copying the programs folder will not work.

Just grab the important files from your old computer, reinstall some styuff and dump the important stuff in it :)

If only it was that easy.

The installation disk is corrupt - so i am unable to install the program on my new machine and due to the age of the program i cant get hold of a new copy. The original author of the program sold to a bigger firm sometime ago and all that they can offer is an update version which costs too much.

Do have have to keep my old machine in order to run the program?
