Everytime I try play a vidio file it will freeze but I can still here the audio. Media Player downloaded the latest codec for it, MPEG4 but it does still freeze. I tried playing it in Power DVD it does the same thing, I instaled DivX it stil does the same thing. Can anyone help me???.

Is this one particular video or a bunch of them? Cause it sounds like the video file is bad.

It does it on some files, I thought it was the file itself but it started happening with more now. Previosly I installed NiMo codec pack but I've uninstalled that now and installed DIVX but that has not helped. I think the codecs are corrupt somewhere.

use gspot to find out what codecs are used..

Name of the codec is mp43

G-Spot is saying I have 2 codecs installed

Audio Format:
Code: 0x0055
Name: WAVE_FORMAT_MPEGLAYER3 (MP3)
Vendor: ISO/MPEG

The following codec should be capable of processing this format:

--> {MPEG Layer-3 Decoder}

DirectShow was also able to find a codec to render it - the sound for this media clip should work fine.

See the DirectShow Render details for more info.

So I am clueless here.

Try installing ffdshow and enabling that for MP43 or just change the fourCC to DIV3 and let DivX do the decoding.
