I got the choices between 2. Which one do you think is the better one? It's basically going to be used for storage (films and games).

1) Maxtor 160GB DMax Plus9 7200RPM 8MB ATA133 HDD, 1Yr -->209.99$cdn

or

2) Western Digital Special Edition 80GB 7200RPM 8MB ATA100 HDD, 3Yr--> 124.99$ cdn.

At first I was going to buy the #2, but then, I saw the other one. It looks better, the only issue is the warranty.

Any comments will be appreciated.

Thanks.

the WD has the three year warranty. I have the 80 GB Special edition and am quite pleased with it. dont know where your buying your harddrives from but I can get the WD 160 GB special edition here for 149.00

iss are you talking about USD or CDN? The original post is talking about Canadian $. I personally would just go for the drive that gives you the best deal.

i think Maxtor's are slightly better/faster but with WD you get a 3yr warranty

and as hard disk do fail i would personally go for the WD, then you have your back covered
