Hi Guys,

I recently bought Midtown Madness 3 and I am having some problems with it. When I try to play the game directly from the DVD, I insert the disc and fire up the xbox, it then reads to disc and goes into a never ending loop of loading the EvoX dash and then the xbox loading screen, then back to the EvoX dash etc etc. Not a problem I thought to myself, so i loaded up Hdd loader and copied the game over to my hard disc - it detected the size of the disc at a little under 4 gig, and then proceeded to copy all the files over to the hdd. However, it then gets even stranger becasue the game does NOT show up in the list alongside all my other games! I thought that mabye it created an entry under `No game name set within XBE` in the games list, but thats my N64 emulator.

I am in somewhat of a quandry... why can I not see it in the list, becasue if it is not there, surly I can also not patch it - I am presuming this game needs patching?!?

Any help would be really appreciated!

Thanks guys,

Will

I did take a look, and I found this...

"md500:
just hex edit the string values of the default.xbe file ,with winhex or something.
change from "E8CAFDFFFF85C07D" and edit it to "E8CAFDFFFF85C0EB""

However, when searching for the first HEX string, it does not seem to appear in the list. I have the PAL version of the game. Atleast I have had some sucess, its now finally on my HDD, god knows what happend the first time. Now all I need is the hex to change.... anyone?!?

Have you tried disabling Evox's In Game Reset? Try disabling it (all 3 of them) and run it from the orginal DVD and see if this works.

Evox's IGR is known to cause some games to crash and not run at all.

It is now working off the DVD, finally. I didnt do anything with the re-sets, bizarly enough, when it was copied over to the hdd it randomly decided to work from the origonal DVD which makes no sence but im not complaining, atleast I can now play it!

However, it would be nice to play it without the disc, does anyone know the HEX to change for the PAL version, or know of a patch I need to apply, something, anything!?!
