WHAT is the better CPU????



ALSO whats better? AMD BARTON 3000+ or is this CPU better?

This really belongs in Consumer Opinion.
The latter one (P4) will give you better performance and lifespan. Hyperthread Technology allows for multitasking, and although there aren't really many programs optimised for it, it's really only a matter of time.

Personally, I don't think much of AMD's marketing campaign using their ramped up clock speeds. They used to be good value, but recently, their price in some catagories has overtaken Intel's for the first time.

The 800 Mhz FSB P4 uses faster memory and has more bandwith.

Id recomend the 800 Mhz p4 over anything else.

Isn't it weird?

2.8p4 chips are lower priced compared to AMDs own 2.1 barton 3000+ cpus???
