PLEASE HELP kof2000 Aug 15, 2003, 04:31 AM make sure you are not doing anything else on it. nimbles Aug 15, 2003, 08:26 AM i have a problem which may be applicable to you- not sure of your set up it may different but here goes: I have my xbox connected to the pc via cross over cable but only have 1 network card in the pc so I have to switch between the network cable for the internet and the one for the xbox for the internet i have the obtain ip address automaitcally but for the xbox i have to change this option and specify the ip address, subnet mask and default gateway (follwing unr3al's tutorial  ) any way this is the wierd bit, when switching from internet to xbox, (including switching to the cables so i'm now connected to the xbox), in the settings menu from evox, it comes as being a half duplex connection even though my pc network card has been set to full duplex (100mbps) rather than the default "auto mode" for some reason if i then restart the pc (while xbox is still on it switches to full duplex and i get fast speeds- between 5-10mbps for large files (less for smaller files). this doesn't just apply to when i'm switching between internet and xbox, i always get a half duplex connection, when the pc is on before the xbox- which i find strange and a pain cos i have to keep restarting the pc- but if the pc when connected to the xbox is switched on after the xbox is switched on i always get full duplex connections!! very strange  I hope this helps heyimnotinthis Aug 16, 2003, 04:05 PM exactly The problem..thanks! |
