Do I have to get my XBox chipped inorder to allow me to play
back-up/copied games?

Er, actually the correct answer is no. With the new font and audio exploits you don't need to chip your console to play backups etc.

Yeah but with the amount of work that you would have to go through doing one of those things it would be easier to simply put a chip in.

Exploits are a piece of cake. 10 minutes max.

Gotta agree with shaunyboy, an hours research and then it does literally take 5 - 10 minutes. I admit it's not for everyone, and more can go wrong than installing a chip, but it is definatly a viable alternative. Yes it's more work, but at the end of it you get an Xbox that works almost EXACTLY like it has been chipped. (Until you want to upgrade the hard disk, then things start becoming a little tricky!)
