My boss is currently thinking of starting the only DVD-R Manufacturing plant in Australia but due to the $4million + startup cost we are studying every aspect of this venture rather closely.

Firstly where would i find concrete figures on the DVD-R market in OZ (i know noone will probobly know this but i had to try) The market needs to be able to handle another 8million or so discs in the first year.

Secondly has anyone heard of or even better used Ultran/Onid DVD-R media as the machine we are looking at purchasing is used to produce these discs in taiwan. I have had a number of sample discs sent over to try out they seem to be pretty much as good a quality disc as Ritek produces (we currently resell ritek discs) even having the same shade purple dye and out of the 30 or so i have tried so far i have had no coasters but im still only testing on our systems so im pretty keen to find out how they will perform on everyone elses machines.

Any input would be greatly appreciated
Thanks alot  cheers

erm, what about the Ritek (a.k.a. U-Tech Media) manufacturing plant in Australia m8?

For CDs / DVDs replication, U-Tech Media Australia offers:

Provide high quality CDs / DVDs manufacturing

Steag HamaTech, now a provider of Ritek's machines, are said to make good DVD manufacturing equipment.

Ritek curently manufactures DVD but not DVD-R in Aus they can make DVD-R but currently do not they import them from another plant.

Why not buy a machine that produces Ritek DVD-R? That is a better investment and more people will buy your DVD-R because they know they are going to get quality media.
