I felt something fishy about Cendyne last year when it took more than 4 months with numerous phone calls to them to get my $30 rebate on a CDRW that I bought.

Yeah it took me 4 months to get my Rebate for my burner as well. Still an awesome deal at the time I bought it though.

It looked weird to me that they were giving such big rebates. Usually that's a clue that has to do with the company finances.

True even though they were relabeled, I can't see how Cendyne was really making any money off of it's relabeled Pioneer Burners.

Doesn't look to me as if they made enough. They should rethink their business model :-)

staples is now discounting their stuff in store. You'd have to ask the manager how long staples would honor the guarantee.

My Cendyne 105 rebate came in under 3 weeks.One of the fastest Staples rebates I have seen.Hope other rebadgers don't follow.Competition helps keep the prices down!

No kidding. I still laugh at the people who try to claim that the namebrands are better. How so when it is the exact same unit and you pay less for it :laugh:

Yep m8, I got an I/O Magic burner which is a rebagged Lite-On but at $40 less AR. Just do a little research on what you are gonna buy and save lots of money, your hard earned money that is!

Staples is quick with their rebates, yes. Cendyne on the other hand, no.

If you get a staples rebate it comes as a postcard.

My Cendyne rebate also came as a post card. . . . . .3 months after I bought it. :rolleyes:

Been 4 months and no rebate from Cendyne on my 105. Guess I can quit waiting now.

The store should pay the rebate if they won't. Assuming you got it from a major store, Staples, office depot, etc.

In a couple of other forums,people are picking up the Cendyne 105 for $125 at Staples b&m.Like always,it depends on the store.Some have them,mine doesn't!

Yes, I mean I saw other people getting deals but it seemed to be city based in Staples stores. $119.00 for their 4x writer. That is in store, don't count on it online. Matter of fact for a couple of months the Staples in my area has their 52x (Or was it 48x?) cdwriter for $18 in store only. Take the dvdwriters out of the case for a price scan. Then laugh when you see the look on the face of the clerk as they find out the price is $100 better than what it was in the case.

Do the same at office depot. They cleared out their memorex dvd writers for $79 & sony 500ax's for $140 a month ago.

No, it was a customer appreciation day coupon.

No, it was weird. Like aug 14-18 & 22-24. Dunno what happened to 18 to 22.

Now the banks are returning their checks too & you have to pay the return check charge. Which is kind of the opposite of a rebate.

Yikes. How lame to have a rebate that actually costs you money.

Now they say they have money for the rebates so you can resubmit them & risk yet another return charge :-)

Man am I glad I bought my drive from them earlier on in the year. Other than the fact that the rebate took forever they were always good to me. Within a matter I recieved my replacement drive about a week after they recieved it. Most returns take quite a bit longer.

Well if a Cendyne can burn you at least 500 DVDR, then 120 Dollar for one is a very good investment. I also got mine a long time ago when it retail for 300 (with coupon and rebate about 200) and from that point to now, I was able to burn at least 300 DVDR and more to come. So 120 is a really a good price in term of protential output
