I think my chip is shot. I have the messiah 2, and am on the 4th ps2. All were v7's. The one i have now is a gh-022 v7. The chip is installed correctly. What happens is nothing. Its like the chip isnt even in there. No backups work at all. I mean, going through 4 ps2s, i would think the chip is dead. Anyone have input? im about to just buy a new messiah 2. The guy at foundmy.com never got back to me about another chip....

Does it play originals, if it is acting like there is no chip there then it isn't installed correctly, or working correctly

make sure the voltage wire is connected and in the right place.

Something else inside could be loose.

I'm on my 3rd PS2, I just seem to break them all. :)

i know how that feels, i was ps2less for about 7 months. there was nothing to live for...:hdspin:

It might be the chip, chances are that it's not. Recheck your wiring and if all is well, look into getting another chip.

I had that problem too, but I recheck and the power wire wasnt on correctly so I put it on an alternate point and now it works like a dream. So make sure your power wire is connect to the right point on the
motherboard.

yeah, it plays originals and dvds, etc fine. just like its brand new. But no signs of backups. I did try both power points. What i will do is get bigger wire and try soldering that on. Maybe my kynar wire is too small. I did try this before, but i will do it again. whatever it takes. So most of you think its the power eh? thanks for the input.

double check all wires.also the clk wire as if this isnt soldered write then no functions on the chip will work.make sure that it is as short as posible.check bios wires m/n/o/p

you should realy use 25swg wire for voltage and ground.
