When I am attempting to burn cd+g to my yahama using CDRWin I get the following message:
Error: 'START DAO RECORDING' command failed on device 2:3:0
Read/Write error or bad medium detected (04h 00h 02h 03h 57h 00h)
I have tried numerous CD's but no joy
CDRWin wont even copy music cd's either (I get the same message)
Nero wont either
Can I assume my Yami Writer is knackered?

Have you tried replacing your ASPI driver or seeing if you can switch to a different one? Just a thought...

Yeah, I am thinking ASPI too.
Remove CDRwin, and when installing 3.9d, make sure you include the ASPI drivers when prompted by the program. Check in the Device Settings and make sure your burner is listed as a recorder.
:)
BTW... 3.9e was released a short time ago.
