When i capture video footage i don't hear any sound either.

i'm not really sure on this m8 but i don't think its possible to hear the audio while you are actually capturing the footage.

Hopefully someone else with more knowledge will confirm if i'm right or wrong.

when you have captured what format have you done it in. Prior to rendering it have you tried playing it .

Are you using a firewire card. I normally capture straight to mpeg2 through ulead dvd movie factory. Never seems to have this trouble.

ell,my pc came with sony software and a usb so iassumed it should work if i follow all the instructions!in the trub shooting guide it doesnt even mention if youhave no sound!
my opc is anew advent one with a firewire socket(1394)so i am assuming it must have a firewirecard installed.however i have only tried usb connection.
driving me nuts!

my sony trv140e cam also came with software and usb connection but i didn't have any problems with sound after capturing.

You could try using the windows movie maker if you've got xp.
