Anyone using epson compatibles with this printer. I've just got one and want to know any downfalls with using them. So any brand names of good and bad would be great. Cheers.

Cameo Sep 06, 2003, 10:36 AM Anyone using epson compatibles with this printer. I've just got one and want to know any downfalls with using them. So any brand names of good and bad would be great. Cheers. Insomniac Sep 06, 2003, 01:02 PM I have used them on a different model Epson and didn't notice any difference whatsoever. This was however, a Stylus Color and not a Sylus Photo. You might notice a difference if you used the printer for photos, brochures and glossy colour presentations. This would need to be the primary use to justify the price disparity though. Epson went on an advertising blitz with their "independent" tests and claimed the opposite. That was hardly a surprise. Every magazine test, with no real vested interests, as both Epson and generic earned them advertising revene, failed to detect any loss of quality and some even reported generic having better colours. No one disagreed on the price saving though. Cameo, you will probably target more replies in the Consumer Opinion forum. jeepers94 Sep 06, 2003, 06:08 PM If you print on CDs or DVDs,you may see a big difference! Many,if not most compatibles do not dry right.Of course some are better than others. Also the water resistance might not be very good! For normal"on paper"printing they should be ok. |
