I need to know how to get back to the original xbox dash. I never made the backup when I installed the exploit ( the transfer speed from the xbox to my pc was too slow and it timed out), and just experience the reboot/time loop. I still plan on using the mech assult exploit, as I have heard that it doesn't have the same bug.

any help would be greatly appriecated.

ok, you need to get a hex editing program... i use hex workshop 4.1, you can use whatever you want...

now open the ftp to your xbox

look on the C partition for a file named xboxdash.xbe

copy xboxdash.xbe from C to a folder on your pc and name it xboxd.xbe or something...

NEVER EVER DELETE xboxdash.xbe FROM YOUR XBOX OR YOU WILL HAVE JUST TURNED IT INTO A PAPERWEIGHT!
now, hex edit this xboxd.xbe you made and do a search for 7800 7400 6600 as a hex value...

each instance you find of X.T.F. change it to X.F.T. so it will work with your renamed xbox and xbox book files

now save this file as default.xbe

use xbedump to sign it

rename the out.xbe to newdash.xbe and upload it to the C drive on your xbox

now edit your evox.ini file to say

AudioPlayer = "c:\newdash.xbe"
MSDashBoard = "c:\newdash.xbe"

tada, youre done!

now reboot the xbox and click MS dash and it should go to the ms dash, sometimes something goes wrong (your xbox and xbox book MUST BE .XFT OR THIS WONT WORK!)

if it doesnt work at first try try again!

Worked like a charm:bang: I can now access my original xbox dash and can now install the mech assault hack...... although, I might have been able to just overwrite the pheonix bios loader with the mech assault hack through evox's ftp options???... what do you guys think? let me know.

one more question, now that I can get back to my original dash, I have a custom soundtrack on the c drive ( that I placed therebefor I did the gamesave exploit), and the original dash still can't see it, even though it hasn't been moved or renamed.
