where ya been dc fisherman? :D the 137GB limit has been broken. :beer: The xbox now has support for lba48 and it's just a simple bios patch you can put to any bios with the latest xbtool. for the kids at home that's up to 2.2 terabytes :D

Yeah, I can tell you from my own eyes... I've been there to see one get modded and it works... I have one too... don't believe the old hype about the xbox can not take more then 120gb... you'll be left behind in the cold!!

yep, there are some very good, technical discussions on xbox-scene forums in the hardware chat. very good stuff. somebody said a long time ago that the ide bus wasn't capable of larger drives, period. then that dude paul came along and found that it was as simple as the bios. :)
in a nutshell, patch your bios with the latest xbtool.. you have two options.
1) give all free space to f: (requires reformatting and data loss) but for new drives, this is perfect.
2) give free space to f: up to 137GB then the rest to G: (great if you allready have say a 200GB in your xbox and wanna gain the extra space without losing anything.)

He also released a patch so that evox will show free space for the G: drive.
now take into consideration that pretty much all apps won't see this g: drive. (boxplorer, xcommander) etc. if the orig. programmers don't release a patch for the programs, rest assured somebody will. :tup: avalaunch have allready updated their latest version so it's built in file explorer can see and use the G: drive.

Personally, if I upgrade my hard drive in the future, I'll give everything to F: so I won't be bothered with updating my apps and what not. The problems above really only pertain to the people who have the larger drives and gained the extra space with the G: drive hack.

*:o* long post :p

.::EDIT::.
just wanna note that all this stuff is still beta and can be buggy. so it's of course, use at your own risk, and don't blame and point fingers if things go awry. that's why they call it 'development'. :tup:

It's really simple too, just a simple flash of your bios with the new xbtool and lba48 is applied ;) still in beta testing but it works
