Nero ? ... My Computer ? ....??? Also, is this a new install, what OS, how is it configured ? etc. etc. redhotscott Sep 12, 2003, 02:18 PM it shows up on my computer windows millenium PhilEnfield Sep 12, 2003, 02:26 PM It might just be that My Computer is retaining data from the previous disk read. Does it do the same after rebooting the system ? I take it this drive works ok normally ? redhotscott Sep 12, 2003, 02:33 PM dos the same after rebooting its brand new and it plat dvds ok PhilEnfield Sep 12, 2003, 02:57 PM Sounds rather weird ....... did you have a DVDRW drive fitted previously ? .... i.e. was this a replacement ? If so, it might be worth uninstalling the IDE channel and letting Windows refind/reinstall it, together with the drive. This can often sort out any system glitches. I am not too familiar with ME though .... I assume it will be similar to XP ... i.e. via Device Manager. Perhaps someone else can advise. It might be a good idea to upgrade to XP anyway, as most folk will be using this or W2000 for ripping & burning and generally it's a lot more stable. jesterrace777 Sep 13, 2003, 03:21 AM That and if you upgrade to 2000 or XP you can go NTFS and not have to worry about the stupid 4GB limit that is on FAT32 systems (Win 98, Win ME, ect.) Tom Croydon Sep 15, 2003, 03:59 PM I hate to say this but I think your DVD's are useless! I assume these DVD's were very cheap. The same thing happened to me a few weeks ago...I bought some really cheap DVD-R's...they looked exactly like CD-R's...no shade of purple dye at all! All of them were reading as audio files...even though I hadn't burned anything on them at all...even in my stand alone player. I had to return them all. At the store I was told lots of other consumers were having the same problem with these DVD's. Best advice I could give you is to try to get a refund and buy some better quality DVD's. Good luck! |
