You sure your drive is dual format and not just DVD+R/+RW? The message you have described is generally what happens when you pop a DVD-R disc into a + format writer or vice-versa. Also what are you trying to backup here (movies, games, ect.)?

The drive is Freecom DVD+/-RW4B which is a 4x -dvdr write and a 2.4x +dvdr write i am trying to create a data disc of about 4gb worth of information.

Silly question maybe ... but , you have selected the recorder (Freecom), in Nero ?

If so, I would try a different brand of media (Riteks are good) or grab a sample pack ...... as it could just be that your drive doesn't like the Mirror's.

Also make sure you have latest Nero update.

True that Mirrors do seem to be hit and miss for people. Also philcom2000 have you made sure to decrypt your movie project first?

Got hold of freecom and they confirmed that its the media and recomended Verbatim, Imation, Ritec, Maxell and Pioneer disks so lets hope that works....

The mirrors should work but only after the software upgrade, There is a new firmware from NEC (thats who make the Freecom - its a rebadged NEC1300A) and also a great unofficial firmware. I had problems with mirrors, bulkpaq etc.. but after flashing its ok.
