I tried to install directx9 on my pc (athlon 750, 256mb, 64mb geforce fx graphics) but it doesnt want to play any games anymore. it worked fine before, but now it doesnt.

Tried running the 3d drawing on dxdiag program and it came up with an error.

Everytime i try to reinstall directx, either from a game or a magazine disc, it doesnt really do anything..

what version of DX9? DX9a? that is a problematic version. the latest version of DX9 is DX9b.

Download DX9b that should solve the problem.

Thanks. removed directx9 and put 9.1 back on. its working fine.

i'll stick with that for the time being....pc not good enough for d9 games anyway!!!

Just out of curiosity....will directx9b help my games performance, or will it not matter too much with my crappy system spec, and the older games i play on it?

is dx9 enabled?

dx9 is gone. running 8.1 now

Only a few of the latest games use DX 9 instructions, so you won't notice any difference at all.

Thought as much....need to save my pennies for a better PC.
