max_dopejam Sep 23, 2003, 12:24 PM Guess that'd be you. And if you consider me saying 'Ok, Ok, no need to be rude' to be rude, you must be a bit of a pillock. I apologise for not reading the rules, but you can't just lock a forum if I call someone rude. Try and be a bit more professional.
celtic_druid Sep 23, 2003, 12:58 PM Actually I was refering to you insulting this board by suggesting that just because there was no trading it was useless.
Also I didn't lock any forums, if you mean your post, well I locked that because it was breaking forum rules, not because of you calling someone rude... I should have thought that that was obvious?
max_dopejam Sep 24, 2003, 04:24 PM I wasn't insulting the board, I was simply asking what it was for, if it wasn't for trading.
And, whats the point in closing the post, because I knew that I had broken the rules, and I wouldn't do it again.
No-one's actually answered the question yet.

Its a help forum! Duh!!
And, whats the point in closing the post, because I knew that I had broken the rules, and I wouldn't do it again.
Coz thats the rules (which u still should read) any post that breaks them faces deletion/closure.
HTH
celtic_druid Sep 24, 2003, 08:39 PM Why leave it open? As said, I close or delete every thread that breaks the rules.
I can't think of any constructive reason for leaving your post open. That just leaves it open for more people to break rules or people to insult you for breaking them.
Trust me, whether you meant it or not, your question was insulting.
Just out of interest, what gave you the idea that this was a trading forum? I would have thought that the above type of descriptions, coupled with all the posts requesting help and the lack of posts requesting trades, etc. would make it quite obvious.
One last thing, when I see someone break the rules and I search their posting history, a bunch of closed posts sticks out a lot more than open ones. That way I can easily see if I should be banning, suspending or warning.
