Hi, I had my version 4 ps2 chipped this week (messiah 2)...trouble is when it was done the guy tested it in front of me & it played everything, dvd, dvd-r, ps1 games, cdr's.
My lad wanted to play a ps1 game so I put the console into ps1 mode (perfect).
But now I'm trying to play a dvd-r game which did work before , just a blank screen, am I doing something wrong....the guy that chipped the console has gone away for a few days so I can't get hold of him.


Any ideas.

Are you trying to play the DVD-r straight after the PS1 game??

With Messiah2 you need to switch the console OFF at the mains ( or switch on back of PS2 ) to reset the Messiah2 chip back to PS2 mode.

Then simply boot the DVD-r as normal.

That's wot i'm doing, looks like it might need to go back to the chipper.
He said at the time the laser was perhaps a bit worn, so i'll get him to look at it.

May be your laser or your brand of media mate.

Try to stick to something like Verbatim or the Ritek dyed brands.
