Hi folks, I needed to upgrade my graphics card and have been offered the following. What I need to know which is the better of the two.
1. MSI Gforce FX 5200 128mb DDR with TV Out, or
2. Nvidia Geforce MX440-8X, 128mb DDR with TV out.
I know there's much better graphics cards out there, but I'm on a budget so please don't laugh at my options
Many thanks

From many web reviews I've read, the MX 440 has a bit higher qual image but it doesn't support Direct 9.x. The FX 5200 will support all DX9 features that the future coming games have. The final decision is yours.

What's the price difference you can get these for?

Averagely they cost the same with same configuration of memory. Both cards with 128MB DDR and TVO, DVI/VGA connectors cost around $60 USD. The FX 5200 with 256MB is about $100 and I have never seen an MX 440 with that much memory. With VIVO, the price of a 128MB FX 5200 is about $100.
BTW, the VIVO features on most cards are not very good. I prefer adding a separate capture card.

i'd suggest an ATI model. One with decent overclocking and softmodding capability will give you the most bang for your buck
