I was wondering how well the 1 to 1 dvd copy software works? Since I am new to this I don't know how to do all the ripping and extra work.

It is only a 1:1 copy IF the movie will already fit on a DVD-R disc. If the movie is over the 4.7GB (or 4.38GB if you prefer) capacity of a disc you cannot get a 1:1 backup no matter what you do. DVDXCOPY Xpress rips out all of the extras and menus and just gives you the movie. However if you want to keep the menus and have the best possible quality, you should go with DVD Shrink (as mentioned above). It is freeware from www.dvdshrink.org . Once you pair it with a burning program like Recordnow Max or Nero it will produce excellent results.

And I Quote:"DVD X Copy XPRESS® can fit your DVD movie on to just one blank disc- and with the new version of DVD X Copy Express now you can backup everything including the menus, languages and special features! No longer are you forced to split DVD movies across two DVD discs." You can read a review:
Use DVDXCopy Xpress to Burn your DVDs (http://www.dvd-burner.ca/DVD-X-Copy-Xpress.html?source=overture&OVRAW=DVDXCOPY%20Xpress%20&OVKEY=dvdxcopy%20xpress&OVMTC=standard)
Which it's not a bad program it takes the guess work out of it for you it just shrinks the whole movie. Which doesn't mean you will get the best picture quality.

But DVD X Copy Xpress is a nice program and I would say probably the best for a one step program!! If the DVD is around 7gig's I've seen it used with out problem, just take out the splash screen. Just my $.02. :round: :hdspin: :round:

I heard something about that but not many people use X COPY Xpress here. I have only used Version 2.5 which does the movie only. However I don't like the fact that Xpress automatically sizes all of it's DVD-Rs so that it is 4.13GB no matter what. Whereas the newest DVD Shrink will use all but 23 megs of space on the DVD-R disc. You did agree that DVD Shrink was better all-in-all though.

Don't forget this special feature of dvdxcopy express:

Built-in Anti-Piracy Protection

Dunno what it does but I bet it keeps you from doing more copies of your copy.

Yeah, I'm glad I only made a few discs with that program. I might test that out a bit more once I get a good RW disc again.

Dunno what it does but I bet it keeps you from doing more copies of your copy. It does 321 screen and it incorporates your serial or something along those lines so if you make to many copies they can link it back to you!! So If you don't like that you can take out the file but then you can't burn in their program!!!
You can try this:
DVDXCOPY improvements - or how to remove .VOB ID's (http://www.dvdrhelp.com/forum/userguides/127933.php)
Or this thanks to slippery a member of DVDRBase.com Forums
Want to remove the Warning Screen using IfoEdit, Here is how. (http://www.cdrbase.com/showthread.php?t=29973&highlight=dvdxcopy)
"There may be other ways to do this, but I was shown this one and it works great, I do it on all my copies.

Do not start DVD Copy Xpress with a recordable disc in the burner. Run step 1 (ripping the disc). When this is finished and it wants you to start step 2 (burning the disc) leave Xpress running and do not start the burn.

Run IfoEdit and open the VIDEO_TS.IFO from the temp folder that Xpress is storing it in. Double click VMGM_MAT in the top window and highlight First Play PGC.

In the bottom window scroll toward the bottom of the window. You will see the PGC Command Table near the bottom. Look for the "Pre" command, right click it and then choose the "Edit" Command.

In the Command: option select (Jump_TT)Jump to Title and in the Title Nr: just select 1

After changing these settings click "Save" and when it asks overwrite the "BUP". Now that you have closed IfoEdit, with a writable disc in the burner finish Step 2 (burning the disc) in Xpress.

Like I said there are other ways to do it, but this one is quick and easy.
Have fun.":hdspin: :round: :hdspin:

Yeah I used to do the whole backup removal with IFOEdit. It's just as easy to learn to use DVD Shrink (if not easier) as it is to learn to use IFOEdit to remove the backup warning. However did I understand you correctly that if I remove the backup warning, that I also remove the Copy Protection on the backup?

I tried to change Archive.txt file one time to something more fun but dvdxcopy didn't copy, so there must be some trick to it, perhaps.

This is what I said in a prior post "It does 321 screen and it incorporates your serial or something along those lines so if you make to many copies they can link it back to you!! So If you don't like that you can take out the file but then you can't burn in their program!!!"
The easy way is to just take out the file but I don't believe it to be the best way that's why I showed the other ways. For a Newbie it might be the easiest. Once you burned with this program your DVD-R/RW or DVD+R/RW is a DVD 5, then you don't need to burn with this program!!! In fact some people then burn on the fly DVD to DVD I don't. You can use any program that can burn a DVD5 like DVD Decrypter.
By the way I though aronmartin had the question what happen to him?

Hmm sounds more complicated than I thought. Oh well, I will just stick with DVD Shrink then. ;)
