im thinking of buying either a tivo or a Pace Twin ,
so im hopeing someone can answer my questions,
1, whats the best out of these 2, tivo or a Pace Twin ??
2, is the pace twin worth the money??
3, heard alot of people haveing trouble with there pace twins,
so im thinking of the tivo as its cheaper and more reliable, but llike the look of the pace twin and built in freeview, so im confused on which one to choose?
hopeing someone has one of these and can comment
thankyou

what abotu sky+? its meant to be good, and is £200 for the box
you could then get the basic sky package for about £10 i think

Can only speak for the Twin as the Tivo is no longer sold in the uk (except second hand) but I suppose the two technologies are almost the same.
I've had my twin for 6 months and love it, binned my vcr straight away and never looked back, ok its had minor problems but pace have been updating the software every other month to iron out niggles and I would say they are almost there.
Ive just stuck in a 60gb hard drive which gives me 32 hrs recording instead of 10 as I was finding I was running out of space if I wasn't catching up with stuff thru' the week.
Picture quality is brilliant, don't really use the live pause but watch many programs from the start while they are still recording.
There is nothing else similar on the market yet (freeview) and who's to say every other manufacturer will get it right first time.
Just a footnote, rumour has it pace are going to show a new box at one of the big shows next month called ultimate with a bigger hard drive and hopefully better software.

think if pace do bring out a new box its gona be expensive and alot more dosh than the twin,
so is the twin worth shelling out over 300 quid for???
also how did you fit a bigger drive into it?
heard u need a certain manufatures drive and a laptop harddrive for it to work????
im really tempted to buy this mate

There's talk of it being in the £299 region with the bigger h/disk, £130 if you do it yourself as its a fujitsu laptop drive, as easy as fitting a harddrive in the pc, 4 screws on a bracket and the data/power lead, the system recognises the new drive ... no partitioning required.
I think its worth the money as the svhs vcr I had was in that price region and this knocks spots off it.
Catch 22 do you wait until xmas for the new one which might just be a version 2 board with a bigger drive, 40/60gb or go for the twin now.
Will pm/mail you with relevent info.
