are you trying to re-rip using your rom drive- some rom drive's have problems reading dvd-r's particularly lower quality media.

you may have to rip the dvd-r in iso mode in dvd decrypter from your burning drive and then burn back to that drive

Some backups are copy protected, its a feature of dvdxcopy products, e.g Built-in Anti-Piracy Protection

So do you mean, if I make I copy using dvdxcopy. I can't make a copy of my backup? Because if the original is messed up. The backup should be able to be backed up for a backup? Has anyone had problems making copies of a backup?

i dont think he means anything like that.

ive had probs trying to re-copy my copies before on primo, recordnow etc ... gets to 99% then bombs out with a dirty disc error or summit.

so if thats what your problem is, use nero coz that will copy any old crap ;)
well, atleast thats what i do anyway

I've made a number "backup of a backup" DVD-R discs with Recordnow Max with no trouble. As mentioned though there seems to be issues with making a backup of a backup with DVD X COPY Xpress. Also what DVD-ROM Drive do you have and what media are you using?
