I JUST TRIED USING DVD SHRINK TO BACKUP MY "2 FAST 2 FURIOUS DVD" AND ITS AN EXCELLENT PROGRAM.

I really enjoy how you can select what you do want and what you dont want. But I have a minor question (about dvd9 to dvd5). Is there a way that I can remove all the previews from the movie? I dont like making it still picture, that just takes away from whats coming up next. I want to keep the menus in there and quite possibly, the extra footage. Im think with removing everything that isnt related to the movie itself, maybe combine that with a good bit of compression I should be able to get in on a 4.7 disk.

Is this possible or do I have to remove the preview movies along with the extras such as cut scenes and directors cut, etc...?

You might be able to do it with IFOEdit but I wouldn't even know which section you should delete from it and you certainly don't want to remove the wrong section. Anyways ifoedit is freeware and can easily be picked up off of the net.

depends on where the trailers are stored- if they are in a separate vob series then you can identify which series it is (e.g. vob_05_01) using powerdvd and use the dvdxcopy/dvdshrink tutorial in dvdrhelp (http://www.dvdrhelp.com/forum/userguides/175347.php) and replace just the ifo, bup and vob files corresponding to the trailers. I've done it several times and it works- you can actually use any compression program not just dvdshrink

If how ever the trailers are tagged to the end of another vob- it is alot harder.

I have been able to remove trailers in those situations, using vobrator, and gone to ifo edit and deleted the play back as jesterace suggested- but i must have missed something because the disc is not dvd compliant. I tried burning the movie anyway but it only worked in my xbox and not my standalone player unfotueately

Thanks for the insight guys. After reading your suggestion Ive come to the conclusion that it cant be done. That just means on my behalf its not possible; at least not at the moment. I just got started on DVD backups I was currently advancing and learning more on the PSX scene. So basically you can call me a dvd-backup-noob. So all the stuff about IFO and BUP files just confuses me :D Ill keep trying I think I may figure it out if I play with it a good bit.
