I was having a lot of problems with virtualdub tmpeg cce amongst others.
I decided to dl and install the tsunami codec pack to ensure i had enough codecs installed was this a mistake ?

Yes. But that is just my opinion. I wouldn't recommend that anyone install any codec packs. They install heaps of crap that you most likely don't need and they are often hard to remove.

YOu can use the Restore feature of XP to reload your registry from the day before you loadedit.
