Hi,
I am thinking of building a computer for myself and saw a chieftec case at a nice price. It is a micro ATX case with 200w power. So what I want to know is whether this 200w is sufficient for the basics... motherboard, processor (AMD 1.8GHz), memory, video card, sound card, hard drive, cd burner, dvd rom and floppy. Is 200w enough?

Also, when buying a case, do they come with all cables for connecting floppy, cd rom, hard drive etc... supplied?

Regards

200w is not enough power. You need to look at 300W as a MINIMUM, preferably 350W or more.

Cases do not come with the cables you mention, the only cables which come with a case are the connectors for the power button, reset, LED's and possible some USB connectors.

Also the power connectors for the mainboard and the CD/DVD/Floppy etc which come off the PSU.

You dont often even get a power lead (Kettle type) to power the thing up from the mains.

The cables for the floppy, hard drive/CDROM come with the motherboard.

It isnt always the case that you will get two IDE cables so bear that in mind for your DVD/CDROM. You will be best off investing in an extra IDE cable.

Agreed, Need at least a minimum of 300w. I would suggest 400w or higher. Go get an Antec or Enermax, they are top of the line. Cables as CHR15 said will not come with the case.

Thanks for the help guys...
So if I'm getting the motherboard as well, then I needn't worry about cables (except for second IDE perhaps)
Now for the actual purchasing...
Based in Ireland. Can anyone direct me to a good site...
