theinsaneclown Oct 07, 2003, 06:31 AM Okay, today 's the 7th of October, the release day of nokia's N-Gage. Has anybody gotten their hands on one of these devices ?
Has anyone already looked at the MMC cards that carry the games ? And if so, can they be read with an multi Mem card reader, probably not, but who knows... Any word on the kind of copyprotection used by this system ?
Any info would be appreciated.

craigsharp Oct 10, 2003, 04:38 AM That good eh! No one can be bothered to buy one.
bigfropro Oct 11, 2003, 01:42 AM I tested one out down at mall and it was kinda nice. Cost too damn much though. Especially since I already have a cool cellphone and a GBA SP. Plus, the games I saw didn't impress me much.
psibob84 Oct 11, 2003, 08:09 PM i may be getting one on monday or tuesday if i can find anywhere sown town that has one sim free.
if so i'll have and look and let you know
psibob84 Oct 15, 2003, 06:48 PM oh well i just picked up my n-gage today.
they look like normal mmc cards and i can read the contents off each game in my usb card reader.
atm i dont have a spare card to try copying a game onto tho
redwolf Oct 15, 2003, 07:13 PM its not worth your money, too many fault about this new console:
1) The Reset button is right next to the control buttons, it will annoy u when u play e.g. fighting games and accedently press the reset.
2)D-pad its worst then the xbox pad.
3)Inserting the game you will have to turn off the console, take off the battery, put the game in, put back the batarry and close the case.
4)Screen is wrong way around. N1ntendo aged from the old Gameboy screen to GBAdvance to make it widescreen, but nokia went the other way.
5)Microphone/speaker is on the side of the console!!! hope u don't get laugh at on street for using a brick.
Some one should tell these company that never mix two thing together. Phone is a phone, and game console is a games console. Nokia are very successful by making cell phone. They shouldn’t have bothered with this $hit! And £230 (without sim) for a handheld is a joke.
psibob84 Oct 15, 2003, 08:07 PM 1) Its pretty much impossible to hit the power/reset button while playing games unless you do it on purpose
2) The D-Pad is very comfy (whats wrong with the xbox dpad ne way)
3) gotta agree with you on this one (but otherwise its a perfect phone)
4) i love the screen and quality of graphics on the games
5) if i cared what other people thought i wouldnt put on a pink tutu and sing at the top of my voice :-) J/K
No one can deny that tombraider on it is a class game tho
psibob84 Oct 16, 2003, 09:37 PM hmm i deleted everything off the memory card that comes with the phone.
i then copied the contents of tombraider to it.
trying to launch it gives the message "memory card corrupted"
creamedcoffee Oct 23, 2003, 04:10 PM I'll just wait for it when it is like 50 dollars
develitate Oct 30, 2003, 08:08 AM LOL, yeah. its allready dropped $100, and you get another $100 off if you buy two games when you buy your Ngage, so $180 for two games and the N-gage. Same price as an xbox w/ two games. Think id go for the Xbox.
psibob84 Oct 30, 2003, 08:31 PM i already have an xbox but i wouldnt like to try carrying that around plus a screen plus whatever sort of power pack it would need to power it
craigsharp Oct 31, 2003, 04:45 AM Doesn't look like it will be a threat to the GBA then. Whenever I tried using the demo ones in shops I couldn't get it working. Either I am completely stupid or they were busted or it is too confusing to use.
psibob84 Oct 31, 2003, 05:10 AM their a piece of piss to use
but i already have a gba and i will still be buying a gp32
