Hello, I am having trouble getting my xbox to connect to my pc. When I go to network settings in evox, it gives me an ip and the static IP and default gateway are both 000.000.000.000 I saw somewhere that I should type in 192.168.0.2 in one and 192.168.0.1 in the other but they do not fit when you type them in. I have never networked anything before if you couldn't tell lol. Any help is greatly appreciated.

here is where I am at right now:
I changed the tcp/ip settings on my computer to 192.168.0.1 with subnet mask of 255.255.255.0, then typed in my static ip of 192.168.0.2 in evox and default gateway of 192.168.0.1 in evox as well. When I try to ftp it, I type in 192.168.0.2 on the computer use xbox as username and password with port 21 and it just says that the address is offline.

you got a firewall enabled on your pc? if so disable it if its that sh*tty m$ firewall and get something decent like zone alarm
if the m$ firewall is enabled its pretty much won't allow your computer to be accessible on a lan which your xbox-pc connection essentially is
start->settings->network connections. double click on local area connections and then click on properties, then click the advanced tab and uncheck the internet connection firewall box

Thanks for the advice but unfortuately it was already unchecked. Tried turning off my antivirus too, but that did not seem to help either. I have read several tutorials, but I just do not see what I am doing wrong.

you sure its a cross over cable?
take the two ends and place them side by side (with the clip bits both facing in the same direction)- if the order of the wires is the same then you aren't using a cross over cable but standard straight cat5 cable.
thats the only thing i can think it is
if you are using the cable that connects your pc to your router/modem then you've been using a straught cat5 cable

Ya it is a crossover, they are in different order. It is a belkin cable and says crossover on it. I am just dumbfounded as to why it does not work. I am using cuteftp pro 3.1 if that makes a difference.
