After encoding to mpeg from various formats the end result has great picture but the audio is "crackly" and is annoying the @#$ out of me.. I have tried many setting variations with no improvement. Same results if i encode to mpeg 2 ect... can anyone suggest a way to solve my audio hassles.

Thanks in advance..

Are you using the internal encoder and or resampler? If so try using external ones.

ummm???? basically im doing all the encoding via tmpegnc. when multiplexing both audio and video the end result is good except the audio side of it is (for the want of a better term) very crackley and slightly distorted. Does anyone have a suggestion for an external encoder...

yer nice one

The bad quality sound could be down to the orginal audio source,

If the sound in the original file is good, it may be best to rip the audio to a wav file using something like Virtual dub. This may give you problems with sound and video being out of sync but this can easily be fixed.
