Does anyone know what the differences are between the OEM and retail version of Nero 6 Ultra Suite? The OEM version can be hand for as low as $8. The retail box sells a minimum of $83. (Prices from Pricewatch.com.) I know the OEM version will only work with one recorder, which is fine for me. Other than that, are the differences enough to warrant the additional cost of the retail box?

I think I answered my own question already. It appears that the OEM version does not include the DVD encoder for Nero Vision Express 2. However, based on my experience with the v6 demo, the SVCD/DVD encoder from v5.5 works with it just fine.

If anyone knows any different, or knows of any other differences I'd appreciate the info.

Well I wouldn't recommend Nero for MPEG1/2 encoding anyway.

Probably also missing AAC/ HE AAC encoding though, as said limited to one burner so no burning with multiple drives.

Have you checked their site? Should explain all this somewhere there you would hope. Otherwise you could always try emailing them.

I am writing this in a box titled "post a quick reply", but I'll take my time thank you.

During my ramblings over the internet (I don't surf at my age, but for any young female members I'm not really that old) I found:

http://www.softsource.co.uk/linked_pages/nero_comparison.htm

As I have yet to establish what Nero Burning does for me which Nero Express won't do, the information contained thereat is next to useless to me, but perhaps it may help JediSB in the quest for the elusive information required to decide whether to part with the extra sum of money, or invest it wisely on alcoholic beverage as I intend to do should the cheaper option suffice my needs.

May others support the noble quest of saving JediSB and myself from unneccessary expenditure.
