I was wondering. I always save my pictures onto CD-RWs because I like to save them as I download them to the computer. But, I also realize that CDs can get scratched and I need to make copies so that I don't lose my pictures. I was wondering if I can copy from my CD-RWs to a CD-R??? CD-Rs are much cheaper and more readily available and almost always on sale while it is difficult to find CD-RWs and they are more expensive. If I can copy from my CD-RWs to a CD-R, it could save me money and then I could put the CD-Rs in a wallet or filing system (that I don't use daily like I do the CD-RWs).

If I just used CD-Rs, then I can't write to them and once I burn something onto a CD-R, then I can't add to it, can I?

Yes to all of your questions.

Some older CDROM drives may not be able to read a CDRW Disk so you may have to use your CDRW Drive to copy the data off first but thats the only likely problem you will face.

You can burn more onto a CD-R once its been written to, it's called a Multi Session disk and is simple.

You don't mention which software you are using to write to your disks but if I assume its Nero (one of the most popular), when you start the program select Create Multi Session disk (or continue Multi Session Disk if adding to it).

The disk must not be finalised though as this will prevent you writing to it again (there is a check box in Nero to select/deselect this option.

It makes no difference. Just use the same procedure.
