I have a liteon 52x24x52x cdrw, a 1ghz pIII, 384mb ram, burning with nero 5, and it takes 15-19 minutes to burn 1 700mb svcd/vcd movie disk.DMA is enable on the drives, I am burning disk at once, and burning straight from the same drive, burning image to hd, then to blank disk.Tried on the fly also, didn't work either.Have never had a problem with the media(durabrand).Freshly installed windows 2000 a few days ago, was burning at 5-6minutes a disk, now that time is tripled.I am at a loss here, downloaded latest drivers, and firmware DMA enabled, nothing is helping.Any suggestions would be nice...

Hi weevil6772,

had similar probs a few years ago with a kt7a mobo on win2k. even though dma was enabled it burnt real slow.

in the end i found that it was the fact that the mobo had a via chipset and i needed to install the 4in1 drivers to get faster burning.

try installing the 4in1 drivers from http://www.viaarena.com/?PageID=300 if you have a via chipset or the alternatives depending on your mobo chipset type.
