Is it true that if you only record, lets say, 25MB of data on a CD-R, that you can go back and record additional data on to that CD-R? Someone told me that was true, and I tried it - I was able to record additional data onto the CD-R, but the original data I had recorded appears to be lost. I am using Nero Burning Rom, and I have Windows XP. Am I doing sometihing wrong? Thanks in advance for the help, I may be wasting tons of CD-R's!!!!

There are two ways of doing this.
1st you can multi-session the disc. When you first burn to the disk use the 'start multi-session' option. When you want to add more data use the 'continue multi-session' option.
Some things to keep in mind, each session takes up some space on the disc due to the lead-in and lead-out tracks, so you couldn't burn 10 x 65 meg sessions to a 650 meg disc. Also some CDROMs can not read multisession discs unless they are closed, 'closing' the disc is an option box when you burn a session. Once closed you can not add more data. Also some CDROMs can not read mutisession discs or may only read the last session
The other way is to format the CDR for Packet Writting. This will allow you to drag and drop individual files to the disc using Windows Explorer.
Things to keep in mind, formatting uses up a lot of space (around 50meg from memory). Also packet written discs are far more prone to failure than ISO9660 written discs.
