-Model #: 39001 R
-Serial: FU
-It has 3 Screws in the Expansion Bay
-And has 8 Screws on the casing

I think that this is a V7, or is this a V8, or maybe something even more current?

could be a v5/v6 I think a comparisson of the insides will tell you.

Well any starting with 39 is a v7 however pepsik above is correct because if it starts with 39 and has an R at the end its a Version 6, So its a V6 console you have.

You sure Jaice, Thats what i thought till i looked about and found this

[AUS/EU/UK] PS2 PAL
30002/3/4 v1-3 = 10 Screws on base of PS2
30002/3/4 v4 = 8 Screws on base of PS2
30002R/3R/4R v4 = 8 Screws on base of PS2 & 2 screws in upper rim of expansion bay
30002R/3R/4R v5/v6 = 8 Screws on base of PS2 & 3 screws in upper rim of expansion bay
39002/3/4 v7 = 8 Screws on base of PS2 & 3 screws in upper rim of expansion bay
[USA] PS2 NTSC
30001 v1-3 = 10 Screws on base of PS2
30001 v4 = 8 Screws on base of PS2
35001 v4 = 8 Screws on base of PS2 Serial # U5*** & U6***, Datecode 1B, 1C
30001R v4 = 8 Screws on base of PS2
39001R v5/6.x = 8 Screws on base of PS2 with three screws in top rim of expansion bay
39001 v7 = 8 screws on base of PS2

copyright - What number comes after the FU and does it have a date code normaly 2A, 2D etc

That list is somewhat incorrect.

30001R can be V4 or V5. You have to pull the expansion bay cover to check for the little screws on the metal shield in the expansion bay. If 2 screws = V4. If 3 screws = V5/V6

3900x always = V7.

Also, there is no such thing as a 39001R.

Im afraid its not just that list thats incorrect then, so are you as there is a 39001R, And if you read the post thats what copyright has.

There is no 39001 R, R was only used in Version 4R, 5 and 6 PS2s.


Are you sure there an R after the SPCH number? Do you have a cam that you can use to take picture and post it on here?

Jaice yes there is m8, Mine is a 39001R although im in the UK if that makes any difference.
