Just wondering, w/c playstation is the easiest to mod with an internal? taking everything into account-- size of soldering points, location of them, etc. Thanks...

bzkod Feb 11, 2002, 10:45 AM Just wondering, w/c playstation is the easiest to mod with an internal? taking everything into account-- size of soldering points, location of them, etc. Thanks... ray-comp Feb 12, 2002, 03:45 AM They are pretty much the same, the 1*** & the 5*** series have slightly bigger soldering points but you have to take out the motherboard completley to chip it, The 7*** & the 9*** series can be done in situ but the soldering points are smaller, You can also adapt the 7*** & 9*** series to play ntsc & pal with out the need of a patch or scarth cable. Hope this is of some help, You can download all the fitting diagrams from my site and have a look yourself. Ray:) bzkod Feb 12, 2002, 12:31 PM Thanks, think I"ll go with a 7xxx. my brother has a 1001 and the laser sucks! want something newer. ray-comp Feb 12, 2002, 01:52 PM Originally posted by bzkod Thanks, think I"ll go with a 7xxx. my brother has a 1001 and the laser sucks! want something newer. I agree The 1001 cant handle realtime video very well if it anyway worn Ray:) Iforgot Feb 12, 2002, 11:32 PM the psOne i heard is hard to mod because all the solder points are so small but its got the best laser Bad Boy Feb 13, 2002, 05:19 AM 7001 is the toughest because you have to solder to 2 chip pins. 5501 is probably the the easiest followed by the 7501. The 9001 and PSone are about the same just 2 less wires on the PSone. Don't wast your time on a 1001:( I have one thats been going strong for 5 years but most are crap. Just my 2 cents worth:) |
