Windows Xp had running ok for about one year with no problems.

Just stopped working.
All it dos is click and then says it has to redial,
tried upgrading driver
tried different socket on mobo
tried mates modem

All with the same problem
Trouble shoot shows nothing wrong and query modem seemed to work but i was not sure what was meant to be there.

Mate reckons mobo faulty.

Note When i disable detect dial tone before connecting the modem makes the dailing out tones.

I ve even reformatted

Any help please

SMID, have you tried the same modem in another PC ?

strange one, might have to open up comp and check connections to mother board

does it have a dial tone?

did u plug the phone wire back in?
