after chipping a mates psone there is no sound coming from it , the backups and original games boot up ok but there is no sound, 2 psones were chipped and one is fine and the games play sound on that one any ideas what the problem might be, the wires on the chip all look fine

chipping affecting the sound is one I have not heard before, did you try the PS1 before you chipped it, if so & connections are good it can only be the chip but i have never heard of the chip doing it either (Iused to buy chips 50 at a time)
