Hiya,

I shrunk a DVD with dvdshrink - it played fine.

I tried then to duplicate that DVD but clonedvd wont even open the file and nero gives read errors.

So I tried with some others that have been shrunk and they are the same.

Anyone know what im doing wrong?

I'm not the best in the world but i use dvd shrink to rip a dvd to my hard drive and nero 6 to burn it.
8/10 times i don't have a problem but i do get errors on some films when trying to copy them again off a copy.
reading other posts on this forum it may be down to media.
The best to use is ritek (GO4 dye).

hope this helps

Yeah ..... as pitmon says it's most probably your media.

Try just copy pasting the files to your HD and see what Windows gives you. If you get Read Error : Cyclic Redundancy Check , then it's a bad burn/corrupted data and no Burning software will be able to copy what it cant read. There is a slight chance that your laser needs cleaning, but I would put my money on poor media (I bet they are Princo).

I agree with PhilEnield, probably media related, DVD Shrink removes the CSS encryption so you should have no problem copying it.

Ouch. Take a look at the Media sticky above and you will find out how many complaints there are about the Datawrite label and thier quality control issues.
